I offer the following general surgery procedures:
I offer the following general surgery procedures:
Cholecystectomy, laparoscopic |
This procedure involves the removal of the gall bladder and is usually performed when gallstones have formed and symptoms have appeared such as abdominal pain. About 4 small cuts are made in your abdomen in order to place surgical tools inside your abdomen and perform the operation. The gall bladder is then removed by cutting the cystic duct and gallbladder artery, and by separating the gall bladder from the liver.

Hernia repair (TAPP), laparoscopic |
A hernia is when the contents of the abdomen pushes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscle wall. When this happens at the inguinal canal, it is known as an inguinal hernia. To put the contents of the abdomen back inside, three small cuts are made in the abdomen to put surgical tools through. The part pushing through the weak spot is then returned back into the abdomen and a synthetic mesh is inserted over the weak spot. The mesh is fixed with absorbable staples/ tissue glue.
|
Hernia repair (inguinal), open |
The open hernia repair uses a different method of surgery which does not involve small cuts like the TAPP method mentioned above. In this method, a cut is made in the groin and the hernial sac is removed. The muscle layer is then strengthened with stitches and a synthetic mesh is usually inserted as well.
|
Hernia repair (umbilical and paraumbilical) |
When a hernia develops in the natural weakness behind the umbilicus (belly button), it is either a paraumbilical or umbilical hernia. The method of surgery to remove this hernia is similar to the method used in the open inguinal hernia repair procedure.

Removing benign skin lesions |
A skin lesion is a part of skin which is abnormal or different from the skin around it. Examples of skin lesions are moles, lipomata, skin tags and epidermoid cysts. The procedure normally takes 15 to 25 minutes and are carried out under local anaesthetic.
